Welcome!

The 3rd Ebey’s Forever Conference offers a slate of behind-the-scenes field trips, workshops, local music, and a taste of Ebey’s – hosted by experts in agriculture, historic preservation and sustainability. This year we explore the “Next Generation,”— featuring the people, ideas and directions that are meeting today’s challenges and working to create a desirable future. Join us as we explore opportunities to leverage cultural resources, support a vibrant rural economy, and convey the important stories of place.

Saturday’s events take place at the Historic Camp Casey Conference Center. In 1890, the US Army opened Fort Casey to guard the entrance to Puget Sound. The active fort included big guns on disappearing carriages, a network of underground passages, and barracks for 428 enlisted soldiers. In the 1950s, Fort Casey was decommissioned and divided between Washington State Parks and Seattle Pacific University under whose ownership it remains today. Thanks to Seattle Pacific University for hosting this year’s conference!

Ebey’s Reserve is a twenty-four square mile mosaic of farms, iconic barns, rambling trails and breathing-taking vistas. At its heart is the Town of Coupeville, tucked along the shores of Penn Cove. Ebey’s Reserve is a patchwork of old and new – a community committed to protecting its cultural heritage and quality of life while embracing progress and change. Ebey’s Reserve is managed by a local Trust Board representing a unique partnership between the Town of Coupeville, Island County, Washington State Parks, and the National Park Service.
